Performing Arts – Leadership – Service – Culture

The Camp Up with People program strives to align itself with the current Up with People program as well as the current UWP theme and regional focus. A driving force behind both organizations is the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (aiming to spur development by improving social and economic conditions in the world’s poorest countries).

The four primary components of Camp Up with People are: Performing Arts, Leadership, Service, Culture. These components intertwine, interact and complement each other in a way that effectually “set the stage” for an experience affording campers the opportunity to mine the past, embrace the present, and impact the future on a myriad of levels – individually, socially, culturally and globally.

In working towards their capstone performance, campers will not only gain knowledge and skills characteristic of Up with People performances (travel, cultural awareness, dance, music, choreography, set design, voice, sound/lights and other production technology); they will also flex their new/enhanced skill set (leadership, community service, and international perspective) to “globalize” their performance beyond mere entertainment.

Mine the Past – Embrace the Present – Impact the Future!
