	About Us Camp Up with People is a collaborative effort between Horizons Learning Foundation and Up with People in an effort to reach high-school aged youth (ages 14-17) interested in performing arts, leadership and global citizenship. The purpose of Camp Up with People is to provide young people with an opportunity to explore their interests, develop their talents, and experience what traveling with Up with People would be like. Horizons Learning Foundation and Camp Horizons Horizons Learning Foundation will work with Camp Horizons to operate Camp Up with People. Camp Horizons is dedicated to providing children with a place they can call their own in our constantly changing world. Campers become a part of a supportive, encouraging community and understand not only their own rights and responsibilities but also appreciate and respect the rights of others. Camp Horizons is a diverse community of campers and staff members, from many different cultures and backgrounds, working, playing and learning together. Our intent is to spark an energy capable of impacting people around the world through fun, friendship and respect for others and ourselves. In operation since 1982, Camp Horizons is accredited by the American Camp Association and is a three-year recipient of the Markel Safety 1st Award. John Hall, Camp Horizons Owner and Founder, is an Up with People alumnus (’78) and has remained active in the alumni community. Up with People Up with People was founded in 1965 to be a positive voice for young people. For more than four decades, Up with People has provided young people from around the globe with a renowned international education and an unmatched passageway to see the world through travel and cultural immersion. Once primarily impacting communities through its musical productions, the current Up with People program addresses the need for young adults and leaders who have a global perspective, intercultural understanding, knowledge of worldwide social issues, leadership skills and a dedication to community service. Up with People exists today to spark people to action in meeting the needs of their communities, countries and the world while building bridges of understanding as a foundation for world peace.
